When The Daily Connoisseur became a personal staple a couple of years ago, I happily repolished my wardrobe and life was new.

The Daily Connoisseur is a charming video blog produced by NY Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Scott and focuses on all things ladylike, including the French-inspired 10 Item Wardrobe. I purchased the companion book, Lessons From Madame Chic on a visit to Anthropologie and slowly navigated my way to the exit while turning the pages. Of course, I wanted to share it with the world, so I grabbed my two best friends and told them all about it. In our mutual excitement, I was invited to help cull their individual wardrobes and so we did.

My first buddy allowed me into her private master closet, but quickly changed her posture when I began tossing her favorite colored blouses with frequency. Some still had tags on them. Prayerfully, our friendship survived. Being a know-it-all never served anyone. Humility is a practice that I'm practicing as I write this.

My second buddy was totally game. She tried on pieces and we agreed on keepers and giveaways. I tell you I knew I'd become a fan of Jennifer and her Madame Chic book series.

The 2nd book in this beloved series is At Home with Madame Chic:

"You may think that being chic has nothing to do with the most insignificant and mundane moments of the day. Moments like preparing your meals, emptying the dishwasher, and paying bills. The secret is: those moments aren't insignificant. Au contraire. They are very significant. That's right; if you can change your attitude about making the pasta sauce, or choosing your clothes for the day, folding the laundry, setting the table, or dealing with the incoming mail, you can completely change your life."

I'm grateful for her familiar voice here. She inspires me to enjoy the art of domesticity.

Sprinkled with plenty of lightheartedness, At Home with Madame Chic conveys to readers how the art of living can be easy and elegant simultaneously. It's another charming book by Mrs. Scott that I can reference again and again. A keeper.

Warm Hugs,
